Why do cats sit such odd places? "Let's see, I have two beds, a couch, a chaise lounge, three chairs and an actual cat bed, oh, and a dog bed to lounge on. I think I'll sit on this notebook."
Can you tell this room was decorated by Marvin? Because nothing says home to me more than license plates and old Panasonic ads.
When I first moved in with Marvin he had two bar stools (honest) in the living room, and his license plate on top of one of them. As a decoration. He was astounded when I pointed out this was not elegant.
Speaking of elegant, Marvin and I are joining some friends at a fancy place for dinner tonight. It's sort of this big house out in the country and they feed you whatever they want. We already got tonight's menu and it looks delish. Hey, maybe we're not going to a restaurant at all. Maybe we're just crashing someone's house.
Anyway, I bought a new ensemble to wear to said dinner.
Do I look good in it? Does it make me look flat-chested? I took Tallulah to the mall with me to get this, because it's an outdoor mall, and she was quite poopular with all the shoppers. She begged me to let her get her ears pierced at Claire's Boutique but I said no. She is not even three yet. It was a fun night out with just the girls.
Back there on the left , lurking behind my shoulder, is the Silly Putty that Faithful Reader Hulk sent. Poor Hulk has the same last name as my high school boyfriend, who I will call Cardinal. Cardinal was Mr. Popular, and Hulk tells me his entire junior high and high school career, he had to hear, "Are you related to Cardinal?" 850 times a day.
I recently asked Cardinal if during high school anyone ever asked him if he was related to Hulk, and he said no.
Sad.
So, when the package came last night, I saw Hulk's last name, and I was all, why is Cardinal sending me something? And why is Cardinal back in our home town? Maybe Cardinal had his sister send me something.
Honest engine. This is what I thought as I opened that package, and then when I saw the Silly Putty with Hulk's warm note (you could have put in a smiley face on a Post-It or SOMETHING, Impersonal Hulk), I realized I had done with everyone else did.
Anyway, thanks for the Silly Putty. I might send it to Cardinal. It made me think of him right away.
In other news, we will have book club next Sunday! Seven p.m. Eastern time! This does not mean roll in at 8:00 and wonder where everyone went. We are not in New York. We do not come late to book club to be fashionable.
Who puts on a fun, lighthearted book club? Is it your old pal June?
I will talk at you tomorrow, which is useless because no one reads me on Saturday. I will talk to an empty room tomorrow. I will talk to crickets tomorrow. I will tell you all about my dinner, and then I might show pictures of me PLANTING the bulbs!
I know!
Try to hang on till tomorrow. I wish I could say "tomorrow" more often. Who am I, Little Orphan Annie?
